Your first contact lenses
Get contact lenses
Tired of wearing
glasses
? You could try
contact lenses.
Your optician at Optique de la Haute Ariège can supply them. However, you’ll need to see a
doctor
to get a prescription. We’ll show you
how to put them in for the first time.
Contact lens prescriptions are generally provided by ophthalmologists or orthoptists.
You can book an appointment directly, without first seeing a general practitioner. Your optician will provide the contact lenses and, under the Health Act of January 26, 2016, can also adjust your contact lens prescription following a change in your vision.

Our advice on:
Are they suitable for everyone ?
Like
frames,
contact lenses
suit everyone! There are some exceptions, but that’s no problem:
1
You have astigmatism : toric contact lenses have been specially designed for this condition.
2
You need a multifocal prescription : if you have difficulty seeing both near and far, multifocal contact lenses are for you.
3
You have astigmatism : as with astigmatism caused by an irregular cornea, toric lenses are the solution.
4
Your eyes are dry : we recommend wearing daily contact lenses. In that case, be sure to clean them thoroughly.
5
You suffer from hay fever : we recommend wearing daily disposable contact lenses to avoid irritating your eyes.
6
Your nails are long: avoid touching the lens with your nails, and keep your nails and hands clean.
